Announcing a NEW sci-fi book!
And it's just in time for Realm Makers
I’m so excited to finally share the news about my new science fiction book! This is one of the secrets I’ve been hinting at, and now I can talk about it!
This book will be a little different: it’s a group project, and it will be coming to Kickstarter this fall!
I joined with eight other writers, and each of us wrote a YA sci-fi retelling of a classic novel. We’ll be launching nine full-length novels, compiled into three special edition volumes with gorgeous, shiny covers!
Introducing: CLASSICS REBOOTED
When I was asked to join this project, I had recently had a baby, hadn’t written in months, and had no deadlines for other books. With the pitch of “choose a classic novel but make it sci-fi,” how could I say no? It ended up being the perfect project to get me back into writing.
My tagline: There’s no place in the galaxy like home.
That’s right, it’s a retelling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, set in space!
I toyed with several ideas (I love anything turned to science fiction, and there are so many great classics out there), but I loved this choice because it ended up with a similar feel to my other books: a fun and unique setting, found family, banter, and adventure.
How can you help?

Meet Me at Realm Makers
I’m very excited to be going back to my favorite writing conference this month! If you’ll be at Realm Makers in St. Louis, make sure to find me. I’ll be taking mentoring appointments on Thursday and Friday if you want to chat about writing or publishing. And I’m looking forward to speaking on a panel about writing romance on Saturday. After missing the last two years, I can’t wait to get back!
Writing Update
I’m working on pass pages (like a final proofread) for The Candy Crush! In addition to a super cute cover, the interior art and layout are absolutely adorable. And something else fun that’s coming soon—a cover reveal later this summer! Rereading it is reminding me how much I love these characters and can’t wait for readers to meet them soon.
More good news: YA Romance Number Six is almost done. By the time you get my next newsletter, it will be off to my editor. Hooray!
In the meantime, if you want to see if my romance books or my sci-fi novels are right for you, check out my books if you haven’t already.
That’s all for this month! Thanks for reading!
